TO THE STUDENTS:  

  • Seniors vote for the Class motto, Class Ribbons and Class Flower today before noon.
  • Seniors:  Christmas break would be a great time to complete your FAFSA.  Contact Mrs. Rose with questions.
  • Did you miss out on the senior ceiling tile painting day? If so, seniors can still purchase ceiling tiles for $5. Contact Kaleigh Kelley to get a form filled out and the design approved if you are wanting to take a tile home to paint. 
  • In January, Mt. Vernon will begin an eSports program to compete against other high schools in the state.  Students interested in being a part of the team, should see one of the posters hanging in the school and scan the QR code to complete an application.  If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Kissinger.
  • April 29, 20223 - Prom at USI in Carter Hall from 8:00pm-11:00pm. Tickets will be sold 3 weeks prior to prom and tickets will be $30 each.
  • When we return from Winter Vacation, January 4th will be a MAROON DAY.

CONGRATULATIONS:

  • Congratulations to the girls swim team on knocking off their rivals last night.  The Mt. Vernon Lady Wildcats sank the Castle Knights and the Boonville Pioneers in the meet hosted by Castle.Mt. Vernon took 1st and 2nd in 100 Yard Freestyle and the 100 yard Breastroke. MV also took 1st and 3rd in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the 200 Yard Freestyle, and the 200 yard Freestyle Relay.  In the 50 Yard Freestyle Mt. Vernon was 1st and 4th.  Complementing these results were additional scoring in the 200 yard IM, 100 Yard Butterfly, 100 yard backstroke, 400 yard freestyle.  The final score was a commanding 138 points for Mt. Vernon to 107 points for Castle, 55 points for Boonville. Points and placing for MVHS:  Sophie Kloppenburg, Jaley Hamilton, Kaleigh Kelley, Krissy Bazan, Julien Glover, Andrea Rutledge, Malley Wagner, Haley Rutledge, Maddie Maier, Samantha Bouch, and Ellie Blackburn.
  • Congratulations to the small, but mighty boys swim team on their strong performances at Castle.  Scoring for the 'Cats were Khai Willard, John Thomason, Mark Gray, Rossy Hollinger, Jaxston Raben, Scott Russell and Josh Schumate.  Josh won the diving portion of the meet while the boys team placed 2nd in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Jaxston Raben was second in the 100 yard freestyle and 3rd in the 50 yard freestyle, John Thomason was second in the 200 yard freestyle and Scott Rusell was 3rd in the 100 yard freestyle and 4th in the 50 yard freestyle.
