TO THE STUDENTS: 

SENIORS: 

  • Seniors if you haven't picked up your Graduation Cap/Gown please pick them up in the Counseling Office ASAP.. 
  • Every Senior MUST order a new cap and gown if you are planning on participating in the graduation ceremony.  Place your order online at www.jostens.com 
  • Your chromebooks will be collected on Wednesday, May 17th before Senior Recognition Practice.
  1. If you have lost an item, please check the main office lost and found.
  2. All sophomores should have received an email with a link to a google form about some course enrollment opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year.  The form should be completed by Tuesday, April 18. (04/14,17,18)
  3. This Friday is the last day to buy prom tickets. They are $30 each.  If you are taking a guest that does not go to MVHS, you must have a guest date form signed before you can purchase your prom tickets.  Tickets will be sold before/ after school in Mrs. Hobgood and Mrs. Walter's rooms.  This Friday is the last day to buy prom tickets.
  4. Auditions for the Mt. Vernon summer musical are this Wednesday April 19th and Thursday April 20th 3:30-7:00 pm in the Choir Room. Contact Mr. Baker if you are interested  at bakerdb@mvschool.org
  5. The MVHS Talent Show will be Friday, April 28th at 2:00pm.  Contact Mr. Baker no later Friday April 21st to set up an audition.
  6. “The Mt. Vernon Parks and Rec Department is accepting applications for summer help at Brittlebank Pool and with the Maintenance Division until April 21st. Positions available at the pool include lifeguard, cashier, pool cleaner, and concessions worker. Maintenance help will involve maintaining all the parks in the city and will include weed eating, mowing, and general upkeep. Call the Parks Department at 812-838-3691 with any questions. Applications can be picked up in the school counseling office or at the Parks Office located at Hedges. They can be dropped off at Hedges as well.”

CONGRATULATIONS:

  • Varsity Track finishes 1st place at Tecumseh/Evansville Christian.  The boys track team traveled to Tecumseh last Thursday evening. We were victorious out of 4 teams total. New PRs from multiple athletes during the competition helped secure 1st place. 1st place finishers were: Caleb Tyus in the 100 and the 200, Jacob Swartz in the 110 Hurdles and the 300 Meter Hurdles, Andrew Santoro in the 400 Meter Dash the 4x100 team relay with a team of Andrew Santoro, Hunter Pedrotti, Grant Lippe and Caleb Tyus, Brady Ford in Shot Put and Discus, Grant Lippe in Long Jump. The 4x400 relay with a team of Andrew Santoro, Ryder Snodgrass, Jacob Swartz and Caleb Tyus.  The boys team will be back in action this Tuesday at Castle High School!
  • Girls Varsity Tennis finishes 1st place at Mt.Vernon Invite.  MV vs. Wood Memorial: 1s. Briley Rowe def. Lily Denning 6-2, 6-2, 2s. Sadie Redman def. Grace Strickland 6-1, 6-1, 3s.   • Congratulations to the following students for their awesome work at the24th Annual First Brush of Spring Plein Air Paint-Out in New Harmony, Indiana. 1st Abbigaile Bazan, 2nd Kiearra Krull, 3rd Malachi Clayton.   Honorable Mentions:  * Ava Williams,  * Konnor Ethridge,  * Adrianna Neave    Participation Awards: * Lydia Deckard,  * Payton Brock, * Juliana Jernigan, * Madalyn Harralson          All these artists received ribbons and cash awards.
  • The Lady ‘Cats came up with a big win on Saturday over Forest Park! The girls had a total of 18 hits and were led by Kaylen Salee (3-4), Bailey Cox (2-2), Cora Bell (2-3), Hannah West (3-4), Alaina Allyn (3-4), and Cherish Anderson (2-3). Hannah had a 3-run HR and finished with 7 RBI on the day! Kaylen recorded the win with 3.0 innings pitched and five strikeouts. Alaina Allyn closed out the game and struck out two!
