  • Today, during the reading period, students will be taking the Career Readiness Survey. Please monitor your classroom to make sure students are completing the survey. I will get on the PA to instruct students at that time to log onto their computers and complete the survey. The survey should take a few minutes to complete. Mrs. Martin will send the email link to all students right before the reading period.

  • Our next professional development day is this Wednesday, January 24th at 1:30 p.m.  All classroom teachers will attend, and all teacher assistants will attend unless otherwise directed by your building principal.

  • MVHS Spring Musical “Grease” is March 14-16 

CONGRATULATIONS:

  • The Mt. Vernon Boys Basketball team won their 3rd straight Thursday evening with a victory over the Fairfield Mules 73-54. The Wildcats played extremely well in the 2nd half and stretched a 2 point halftime lead out to 20 points, three minutes into the 4th quarter. Mt. Vernon had another balanced scoring attack with 4 guys in double figures. Jackson Clowers led the way with 20 points, Meyer Robb had 16 points, Nash Hostetter had 15 points and Nicot Burnett 14 points. Mt. Vernon turned up the defensive pressure in the 2nd half and used turnovers to create some easy scoring opportunities in transition. Mt. Vernon will be back in action tomorrow night at Carmi-White County when they take on the Day School Eagles. Tip time is scheduled for 5:30. Come on over to Carmi and support the Cats!

  • The boys basketball team won their 4th straight with a win over Evansville Day 64-37. The Wildcats built a 20 point halftime lead and stretched it out 30 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Mt. Vernon had 4 in double figures again today led by Jackson Clowers with 18 points, Meyer Robb with 11 points, Logan Dutkiewicz 10 points, and Brady Schickel with 10 points. Mt. Vernon improves to 8-6 on the year and will play Carmi-White County for the Championship of the tournament tonight at 6pm. Come on over to Carmi and cheer on the Cats!
