Altered Schedule Dates for March

STUDENTS:

• The Super Bowl Team competed at the Memorial Invite.  Abbie Ries performed alone on the English Team, scoring 23 out of 25 points.  Her solo performance defeated other teams with up to five students.  

• • Libby Reese has been nominated for student of the week. Vote for her at courierpress.com. Voting ends Thursday at noon. Way to go Libby!

• Calling all Sophomores. Applications for Big Brothers Big Sisters at Mount Vernon are available from Mrs. Tharp in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 8th.

• "Do you have spirit? We want to hear it! The Mount Vernon High School Cheerleading Tryouts will take place next week on Monday, March 18th and Tuesday 19th from 5pm-7pm. Tryout groups will perform on Thursday March 21st beginning at 3:15pm. Each girl and their parents must fill out a tryout permissions slip form and return it by Friday, March 15th. Picked up forms in the counseling office.

• All Seniors wanting to play in the All-Star Basketball Game sign up in Mr. Krizan’s Room B105 - deadlines to sign will be Friday, March 15th.

• Seniors:  The FAFSA help night is Monday, March 18 from 6-7 in the Media Center.  It is very beneficial for your FSA ID to be created several days before the event.  See previous emails, flyers around school or reach out to Mrs. Rose in Counseling for help.  Remember that this is required by the state of Indiana.

• Friendly reminder from the NHS that you only get ONE chance to get the fourth quarter off to a great start.... that chance is this week!  The NHS will also hold its mandatory monthly membership meeting (which is an amount of above average alliteration) THIS THURSDAY, MARCH 14, 2024 at 7:30am in the Media Center.  This also corresponds to Pi-Day.  Be aware.

• There will be a junior & senior meeting on Friday, March 15th from 1pm - 2pm in the PAC.

• Unified Track Practice begins TODAY! Be ready to practice and meet in the athletic foyer by 3:20 pm.  If you are unable to attend the practice, let Coach Easton or Coach Schneider know.

• MVHS Spring Musical “Grease” is March 14-16
