STUDENTS:

• Mr. Reidford’s 1st period study hall tomorrow should report to the Media Center.

• Reminder that all NHS members as well as the new inductees, will be dismissed at 10:50am today to go to the PAC for the 11am induction ceremony.  The ceremony will conclude by the end of the reading period."

• Free Athletic Physical Night - Wednesday, May 15, 2024 - MVHS Athletic Foyer

• Incoming 9th through 12th grade: Pre-screening for off-season athletes will start at 5:00 PM.  In-season athletes should arrive starting at 5:30 PM.  No admittance after 6:30 PM.

• Online athletic registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open May 1 for all incoming high school athletes at mtvernon-in.finalforms.com.  If your athlete has previously registered on FinalForms, their data has been saved and you will simply need to login and review/update their information.  For those who have not previously registered, please go ahead do so!  (Be sure to choose the 2024-2025 school year!)

• Once the registration is complete, you can print the IHSAA physical form directly from the last page of the FinalForms registration.  (This saves you from having to complete the paper copy!!) The athlete and parent/guardian will both need to sign the printed copy at the bottom of the evaluation form and Page 4 MUST BE COMPLETED (including insurance information) and signed by parent/guardian and athlete prior to obtaining a physical.  

• The student athlete should bring the entire physical form with them to the FREE physical night.  If you have questions, call the Athletic Office at (812) 833-2060.

• Incoming 9th grade athletes will also be doing concussion screening.  Athletes should bring their chromebooks with them to the physical to use for the screening.

• "It is that time of year again ~ AAG Day is coming up! It is scheduled for Friday, April 26th in the afternoon. We have decided to change up the colors this year as well. The colors are: Staff: RED, Seniors: PINK, Juniors: BLUE, Sophomores: GREEN, Freshmen: ORANGE.  Please be sure to wear your assigned color that day. If you are interested in competing in any of the events, please complete the form that was sent to you via email by Wednesday, April 17th. If you have any questions about any of the events please contact Ms. Block or Ms. Burnett."

• Ava Valier has been nominated for Student of the Week. Vote for her by going to courierpress.com and searching "Student of the Week." Voting ends Thursday at noon. Congratulations Ava!

• “The Mt. Vernon Parks Department is taking applications for summer employment at Brittlebank Pool, and for the maintenance division. Positions include pool cleaner, cashier, concession worker, and lifeguard for the pool. Ages 14 and up. For maintenance it is ages 16 and up and would include lawncare and minor facility maintenance. There are applications in the Counseling  office.

• Hovey Lake FWA is looking to hire a seasonal property worker position. This is a temporary position and will be full time during the summer months. The position involves working outdoors to help improve fish and wildlife habitat, as well as maintain property facilities. Some specific job duties include mowing grass, operating UTVs, operating tractors, assisting in wildlife management projects, banding birds, and more.

Starting Pay: $13.50
