Parents and Guardians,
Like many other school districts, we are experiencing staffing issues due to illness. We will continue to provide in-class instruction as long as we possibly can this semester. However, if one of our schools is unable to provide a safe and secure learning environment for students we will use our virtual platform for that building for a defined period of time. Please help us stay in session by not sending your student to school if they don't feel well or have a temperature. For the remainder of the semester we will also use virtual days when school is canceled due to weather conditions as long as teachers are able to properly plan ahead of time. We will continue to do our best to stay in session and end the school year as scheduled.

Unfortunately, Posey County's COVID-19 pandemic status is Red again. According to the Posey County Health Department, the number of positive cases in Mt. Vernon for last week is the highest total for one week for Mt. Vernon since the pandemic started. With this data in mind, we are postponing the Winter Formal. The new date is tentatively being set for March 5th. If you have already purchased a ticket and/or gotten a non-MVHS student approved, both will be honored for the new date. If you need a refund because of the change, please contact Mr. McLimore and the Band Booster Club will arrange a refund.
