The Mount Vernon Police Department will be hosting the Junior Police Academy, June 7 through June 11. If you are interested, there are applications on the table outside the main office. You must be an 8^th grader and have a 3.0 GPA and your application must be returned by May 6.

Free physical night is May 12^th.  There are forms available in the main office that have to be filled out in advance and signed by a parent or guardian.

Tryout information for Cheerleading available on the table outside the office. The tryout clinic will be Tuesday May 11th and tryouts will be held Thursday May 13th. See Mrs. Kissel if you have any questions.

There is information outside the main office on the table for several summer camps including new ones for running, wrestling, softball and volleyball.

Letters were sent out for distinguished honors night.  These are students who made distinguished honor roll all year.  There is a list of those students outside the main office.  If you think you should be on this list, please check the list.  If you have any questions about it, then please see Mrs. Culley in the main office. 

Just reminder that you are to only bring a gym bag with shoes and gym clothes to gym class.  No backpacks, chrome books or phones are to be brought to class.

This Thursday, is the 7^th grade glow dance.  It will be from 5:30-7:30pm.  Tickets are $5 and will be sold Wednesday and Thursday during lunch and at the door that evening. 

The lost and found table is full.  We also have a few items in the main office.  Please take a look for something you might be missing.  They will be cleared off Thursday.

Coach Alcorn would like to meet with all Junior High Wrestlers in the Small Gym on Wednesday at 1pm to talk about the summer program. 

Congrats to the MVJHS Boys track team, they pulled off a WIN against Gibson Southern last night 62-52.  Keep up the great work, CATS! No practice today! Rest up. Meet on Wednesday vs. Princeton.  Julian Dickinson had a PR on 300 hurdles again by beating his previous record of 49.13 with a new accomplishment of 44.8

8^th graders who plan on playing high school football will have a parent meeting on May 10^th at 5pm in the high school cafeteria.  Enter at door 11 and only one parent per player please.
