TO THE STUDENTS:
- The National Honor Society will be meeting tomorrow, March 10 at 7:30 am in the PAC. All members are expected to be in attendance. If you have a conflict and can not attend the meeting, please let Mr. Riedford or Mr. Wheaton know before the meeting.
- If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior and have a cumulative gpa of 3.5 or better and you are not already a member of National Honor Society you should have received an e-mail from Mr. Riedford or Mr. Wheaton inviting you to fill out the paperwork that you need to complete in order to be considered for membership. This application is due to Mr. Wheaton by this Friday, March 11 at 3:15.
- Any student interested in participating in the Junior Police Academy hosted by the Mount Vernon Police Department can pick up an application in the high school counseling office. Session dates are: June 6th - 9th (8am-12pm) & June 10th (12pm-6pm) For more information regarding the Junior Police Academy see School Resource Office Turner or call MVPD @ 812-838-8705 M-F (8am-4pm)
- Chicago: High School Edition opening tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm in the MVHS PAC Also showing Friday, 03/11/22 @ 7pm, Saturday, 03/12/22 @ 2pm & 7pm Lot's of talent in the cast, crew, and orchestra! You don't want to miss this! Purchase tickets at mvhsfinearts.ludus.com
- Seniors: The state FAFSA deadline is about 5 weeks away. If you have questions, see Mrs. Rose.
- Attention Senior Boys: Anyone interested in being a Big Wildcat on Campus candidate, please attend the informational meeting this Friday during reading period in room A215. If you cannot attend, please see River Snodgrass.
- Seniors- It's time to submit your early childhood pictures for the Senior Video. Please include information about your plans after graduation. You can submit pictures to Mr. Pickrell at the Media Center. Include your name and phone number on the back of each photo. The deadline is Friday, March 31.
- Congratulations to the following FCCLA members whose projects advance to Nationals: Mia Wagner, Lauren Robb, Adam McDowell, Ari Shepherd, Parker Gross, Abbi Dosher, Calee Schneider, Sadie Redman, Lily Denning, Sophie Kloppenburg, Amelia Hudson Mt. Vernon High School FCCLA Chapter also received Gold Honor Status. Congrats to all!
- Congratulations to all of the State DECA participants who represented MVHS in Indianapolis. The following awards were won: Alessandro Bommarito and Nicolo Ghiotti - 7th Place - Travel and Tourism Marketing Rylan Paul and Carson Tucker - 6th Place - Hospitality Marketing Kaleigh Kelley and Sophie Kloppenburg - 5th Place Hospitality Marketing The following three students qualified for the International DECA competition in Atlanta, Georgia by each finishing in the Top 25 students in the Midwest Region, which had about 1000 participants.
