TO THE STUDENTS:

  • The latest “Wildcat Word” is out.
  • MVHS is collecting books for a future project, and we need your help! Please bring gently used or new children's books to Mr. Ungetheim's room C116.
  • Students vote during lunch for a faculty homecoming king and queen. All proceeds will be going to Avery's Place to help build an all-inclusive playground. 
  • Mark your calendars - MV Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, September 24 from 8-11 pm.  Tickets are $10 and will be on sale during lunch on September 21-23.  In order to bring someone that is not a student at MVHS, you must get approval BEFORE buying tickets.  Forms can be picked up in the counseling office.

On this day, we won’t be able to tell which witch is which!   Wednesday: Show Your Heart (pink out/red out)- Why not celebrate Valentine’s Day a few months early? Show your love by going all out in PINK!   Thursday: Turkey Hunting (camo)- Time for turkey! Dress for a hunting success by wearing camo.  Friday: Class Colors- Show your class pride! Go all out with the color that corresponds with your grade level: Freshman-white, Sophomore- gray, Junior- maroon, Senior- Black       Each morning at 8:00 we ask anyone who has dressed up for that day’s spirit wear to come to the athletic foyer for a photo.

CONGRATULATIONS:

  • Girls Varsity Soccer beat Pike Central 4-3, in a shoot out.  Goals were scored by Lera Wilson, Maty Burnett, Sophie Kloppenburg, and Valarie Thompson!
  • Girls Varsity Volleyball beat Princeton 3-0, and recorded 17 service aces!  Mallory Nurrenbern had 10 aces and 11 kills.  Brooke Sledd had 4 aces and 19 digs.  Arlissa Sharber had 29 assists and 7 digs.  Carlotta Pascual and Sydney Deig both had 6 kills.  Haley Duffey had 6 digs.  The Lady Wildcats are now 10-5 on the season.

CONGRATULATIONS:

The Mt. Vernon Lady Wildcat golfers took home 2nd place in the 13 team Pocket Athletic Conference tournament Monday evening.  The team score of 189 was a season best for the Cats and was second only to Gibson Southern.  Junior Hadley Weatherford earned PAC All-Conference honors with a 7th best score of 44.  Seniors Olivia Culley and Haley Rutledge had 45 and 49 respectively.  Hannah Carr shot a 51 and Jillian Higginson shot a 57 which helped secure the final score.

  • The Mount Vernon High School volleyball team along with the Mount Vernon Junior High volleyball team are partnering and hosting a fundraiser to benefit Rylie Nurrenbern who is battling a severe illness.  Proceeds will be donated to the Nurrenburn Family.   Please support this fundraiser by ordering a t-shirt.     https://family-notions.square.site/
  • Mark your calendars - MV Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, September 24 from 8-11 pm.  Tickets will be on sale during lunch on September 21-23.
  • The National Honor Society will meet this THURSDAY morning at 7:30AM in the MEDIA CENTER.  Any students unable to attend due to school related activities should see either Mr. Bethel OR Mr. Bacon PRIOR to Thursday.
  • Students who had trouble setting up their Parchment account should see Mrs. Rose by today.

TO THE STUDENTS:

  • Students who had trouble setting up their Parchment account should see Mrs. Rose today or tomorrow.

  • Lunch With Law Enforcement starts this month! High School's day will be Wednesday September 28th. There will be two law enforcement officers from each agency, for a total of six officers enjoying our school lunch!
