TO THE STUDENTS:

  • For all Brittlebank Pool workers for this upcoming summer, the pre-employment drug screen scheduled for today after school has had to be rescheduled. You will be informed of the new date by Parks and Rec staff as soon as possible.Friday, April 29th @ 1:50pm students should report to their coordinating groups. You will sit in the coordinating group in the PAC with your coordinating group teacher and attendance will be taken.

  • MVHS will be hosting a blood drive this Friday, April 29. You may sign up to give using the google form link that was emailed to you. To give blood you must  Be in good general health and feeling well Be at least 17-years-old, or 16-years-old with parental consent  Weigh at least 110 lbs.
  • SENIORS:
  1. If you are planning on participating in the graduation ceremony you MUST order a cap & gown! Using past graduates' cap and gown is not allowed. If you don’t know if you have ordered a cap & gown, please stop by the counseling office and check with Mrs. Martin.
  2. The FAFSA state deadline has been extended.  If you need assistance, see Mrs. Rose.  The next state deadline will not be announced in advance so complete it ASAP if you are considering attending college anytime during next school year.
  3. Applications for the Elizabeth D. Baier Youth Spirit Awards are available in the Counseling Office.  Completed applications must be postmarked to the United  Way of Posey County by April 29. This $500 award will be given to a current junior whose residence is in Posey County and who has exhibited outstanding achievement in the following areas: leadership, volunteerism, and community involvement.

  • Mt. Vernon Concert Band received straight gold ratings at their ISSMA Concert Festival
  • Connor King competed in the Kentucky Welding Institute this past weekend against 140 welders from all over the US.  Congrats Conner on your 1st place win!

  • Boys Varsity Golf defeated Bosse shooting a team low score of 173.
  • Coed Varsity Unified Track and Field finishes 1st place at Ev. North.
    • The 100M Dash scorers included Braiden Royal, Jaley Hamilton, Molly Jones, Julia Kingery, Drew Rapp, and Nolan Deno
    • Scoring for the Wildcats was Aiden Paul for the long jump. For the shot put, Nolan Deno, Molly Jones, Drew Rapp, and Abbi Dosher.
    • The 400M Dash included Braiden Royal, Ben Gluekart, Logan Steedman, Jaley Hamilton, and Genna Biggerstaff.
    • The boys 4x100 relay team placed first. The 4x100 members include Logan Steedman, Ben Gluekart, Aidan Paul, and Braiden Royal.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:
The Super Bowl Team competed last evening at the Area Competition in Class 2.  The top performance of the evening was from the English Team.  They placed 1st with a score of 24 out of a possible 25 points.  Team members are Brenna Julian, Sophie Kloppenburg, Sydney Friedman, and Emma Fisher.  The Math Team placed 1st with a score of 15 points.  Team members are Carson Tucker, Rossy Hollinger, Shelby Lang, and Rylan Paul.  The Interdisciplinary Team placed 1st with a score of 18 points.  Team members are Sydney Friedman, Carson Tucker, Noah Woods, and Dusten Anderson. The Fine Arts Team placed 2nd with a score of 16 points.   Team members are Sydney Friedman and Cora Bell.  The Social Studies Team placed 3rd.  Team members are Christian Cole, Noah Woods, and Ainsley Pierce. The boys track team competed at home against Tecumseh and Evansville Christian. The team finished 1st overall! First place finishers were:

Girls Varsity Tennis finished 1st place at Mt.Vernon Invite and beat Evansville Day School yesterday 5-0.
The Lady 'Cats played a conference doubleheader on Saturday. In the first game, the 
'Cats were victorious over the Forest Park Rangers. Hannah West (2-4), Mallory Mason 
(2-3), Kaylen Salee (3-3), Baylee Rhodes (2-3), Bailey Cox (2-4), & Raycee Stallings 
(2-2) had multiple hits. Kayleen Salee & Mallory Mason led the team with 3 RBIs each! 
Kaylen Salee pitched the full game victory, only allowing 1 ER and striking out 6! 
The Lady 'Cats picked up their second win Saturday against Tell City! Mallory Mason 
(2-3), Bailey Cox (2-4), & Peyton Rush (3-4) had multiple hits. Kaylen Salee, Bailey Cox, Cora Bell, & Peyton Rush had 2 RBIs each!
Kaylen Salee secured the win in the circle striking out 5! It was a great day for softball!

  • The MVHS Girls Varsity Tennis beat Tell City High School 5-0 this past Saturday.
  • Also this past weekend Varsity Softball beat Washington - Washington, In 14-4      The Lady 'Cats earned their third conference win!  Every Wildcat had a hit in the game. Baylee Rhodes (3-3), Peyton Rush (2-4), and Raycee Stallings (3-3) led the team with multiple hits. Kaylen Salee (3), Bailey Cox (2), Peyton Rush (2), and Raycee Stallings (2) had multiple RBIs. Bailey Cox hit her second home run of the season! Kaylen Salee had the win in the circle, giving up no earned runs and striking out 8.
