TO THE STUDENTS:

• Bus 3 will be driving Bus 44 until further notice.
• Bus 31 students will be riding bus 12 today 12/6, Tuesday 12/7 and Friday 12/10 this week.
• Tuesday, December 14 Winter Art Show 5:00-7:00 pm located in Art Room F102. Students and MVHS staff only can view the art show during school on Dec 14-15.
• Seniors: If you are planning on walking at graduation you must order a new cap & gown from Jostens at www.jostens.com   Seniors you also need to stop by the Counseling Office and verify their name that will be printed on their diploma.
• Students please check your email for information about credit appeals.  Students who have missed 7 or more days per class must appeal for their credit. Forms are now available in the counseling office. It is the responsibility of the student to pick up the forms, fill out the student portion and give it to your teachers. Forms must be turned in by Monday, December 13. If you fail to appeal, you will automatically lose your credit for that class. If you have questions, please speak with Mr. Fischer.

TO THE STUDENTS:

• Appeals for Credit announcement

• The following MVHS Fine Arts Academy students won awards at the Posey County High School Senior Art Show sponsored by The Hoosier Salon in New Harmony. The show is open to the public during normal gallery hours through Dec. 12th and admission is free.

Miles Matter 5K - Date: November 20, 2021 Time: Start Time 10:00 a.m. - all age groups will compete together.  700 Harriett Street - Band Parking Lot     Cost: Entry Fee: $20.00 This includes a T-Shirt!  You will need to have the registration form and payment completed by November 6th in order to guarantee a t-shirt.  Race Theme:  Wear red, white, and blue American-themed clothing to show your support to those who served our country!  The goal of this event is to raise at least $500!  All funds raised will go to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 here in MV!  Bib Pick-Up and Day of Registration starts at 8:30 am in the Band Parking Lot.  Weather - this race will take place rain, shine, warm, or snow!  Remember to dress appropriately.  Bathrooms will be available.  Food and Drink - water will be available as well.

Monday, November 15, 2021 - Gray Day     

TO THE STUDENTS:

• Over the weekend, both junior varsity and varsity girls’ basketball teams defeated Bosse. Junior varsity beat Bosse, 27-13. With 10 points and 10 rebounds, Braiden Brown, got her first double-double of the season!  Browning led the team in points followed by Abbey Ries with 5 and Livi Robles with 4. Leading rebounders were Livi Robles 12, Braiden Browning 10, Abbey Ries 9.  Livi Robles had 4 steals and Kyra Rainey had 4 assists. Varsity beat Bosse 38-30.  With 21 points and 12 rebounds, Lera Wilson, got her first double-double of the season!  Wilson led the team in points and rebounds.  Other leading scorers were Mallory Nurrrnbern with 7 and Ari Shepherd with 6.  Leading rebounders were Arlissa Sharber 7 and Ari Shepherd 6.   Wilson led the team with 3 steals and 16 deflections.  Sharber had 3 assists.  Lady Cats take on Memorial Tigers and North Posey Vikings this week!  Go Cats!

• Prom will be held at USI on April 23, 2022.

• The junior class will be electing a new class president.  If any junior in good standing is interested in running, please stop by room A218 to pick up an application.  All applications and digital campaign posters are due to Mrs. Delancy by 3:30pm on Tuesday, November 16th.  Online voting will be held on Wednesday, November 17th.  IF you have any questions, please see Mrs. Delancy in room A218.

• Yearbook is sponsoring a photo contest that will run from October 25-January 7. Students are invited to take school appropriate candid photos of high school students engaging in school activities, sports, clubs, volunteer work or even at their jobs. Cell phone pictures will work. The top 10 photos will be featured in the yearbook with photo credit. 

• Art Guild Members - today is the last day to pay your $10 to receive a club t-shirt. See Mrs. Glaser TODAY if you have any questions.

You will need to have the registration form and payment completed by Nov. 6th in order to guarantee a T-shirt.  Race Theme: Wear red, white, and blue American-themed clothing to show your support to those who served our country!  The goal of this event is to raise at least $500!  All funds raised will go to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 here in MV!  Bib Pick-Up and Day of Registration starts at 8:30 am in the Band Parking Lot.   Weather- this race will take place rain, shine, warm, or snow! Remember to dress appropriately.   Bathrooms will be available.   Food and Drink- water will be available as well.

• Seniors, this Sunday is College Goal Sunday where you can receive assistance completing your FAFSA.  It is 2:00 at Ivy Tech.  Previous emails with additional information have been sent.

• CALLING ALL STUDENTS  Do you like to argue? Are you constantly burdened by being the smartest person in the room? Is the added pressure of always being right getting to you? If you answered yes to any of those questions then I have the perfect solution for you. MVHS is excited to announce the implementation of a new Debate Team. If you are interested, please join us for a brief meeting this Friday during the reading period in Mr. Bethel’s room (C123).
